Optimized Compression Ratio: Extensive testing has uncovered that the factory piston compression ratio in the EA839 3.0T engine is vulnerable to excessive knock in very large turbo/high-boost setups. In response, a custom-spec'd lowered 10:1 compression ratio has been developed. This ratio safely reduces cylinder pressures without compromising engine responsiveness or the precision of the direct injection system during tuning.

High-Performance Piston: JE has engineered a sturdy, lightweight piston forging tailored for extreme operating conditions in high-powered applications. This high-performance alloy, compatible with iE connecting rods, can withstand acceleration forces of over 8000 Gs and directional changes exceeding 200 times a second. The piston dish and dome design are specifically crafted for the Audi B9 turbocharged 3.0L engine, featuring properly placed valve reliefs for smooth combustion characteristics.

Leading Quality Control: JE Pistons sets the piston manufacturing and quality control standards. Each piston forging undergoes rigorous verification in a dedicated manufacturing cell, ensuring tighter tolerances in 14 critical areas. A 23-point quality inspection is conducted in a controlled lab environment to maintain consistent measurements and guarantee dimensional conformity.
