Optional Features

IE Stage 1 Intake Manifold

This free option is included with a Stage 1 Tune purchase and is for owners who have installed an IE Performance Intake Manifold (Sold Separately). IE Stage 1 Intake Manifold software fine-tunes the ECU calibration to match the manifold plenum and runner flow characteristics along with special tuning for the removed runner flaps. Even though tuning now matches higher flow characteristics of the intake manifold, performance numbers are still limited by the factory downpipe. Because of this, Stage 1 IM combination is only recommended for users who are planning on Stage 2 IM in the future, are trying to get rid of constantly failing runner flaps or cracking plastic manifolds, and building for improved engine bay looks.

Easy At-Home Tune Install

Required to flash your new tune, IE's DIY Flash Tool allows you to quickly upload your tune from your own garage or driveway. This OBD plug-in device is easy to use with a Windows-powered laptop and WiFi connection. Your new tool also includes the abilities to switch between multiple octane files (available separately), reading and clearing diagnostic codes, upgrading Stages, or flashing back to stock.  

Upgrading Tunes

Already have an IE Stage 1 tune and IE DIY Flash Tool? Upgrading to Stage 2 or beyond is easy! You only pay the difference in cost between the files with no additional or hidden fees. Once the required supporting hardware is installed, simply plug in your DIY Flash Tool and follow the instructions on your screen to purchase and flash the upgrade file.

Dynometer Optimized

After completely reverse engineering the factory ECU, our engineers use our in-house Dynapack DP42 dynamometer to perform repeated runs to test each change that is made to the software and confirm drivability in any situation. This ensures IE performance software delivers massive horsepower and torque increases across the entire powerband. Using our in-house dyno and advanced tuning tools, IE engineers have fully optimized every aspect of the factory ECU mapping on many different vehicles. This produces a tune that retains all factory like driving and safety protocols when needed, and an intense surge of power when you want it.

Removed Speed Limiter

The factory ECU speed limiter has been removed to make sure the increased power and torque can be used to its full potential on straightaways and drag strips.

Increased Rev Limit

With the significant power increase, the rev limiter is also increased to allow a wider powerband on all IE 2.0L FSI files. By increasing the rev limit, you gain a perfect match for the increased performance available from your new IE performance software tune.

Improved Throttle Response

To further increase the responsive feel of the car, IE engineers have carefully adjusted the throttle sensitivity. This offers a more connected feeling to your car with plenty of power available right beneath your foot.

Optimized Fueling

All IE tunes have been adjusted to run as economically as possible, dialing in air/fuel ratios to exactly where they need to be. With an IE performance ECU flash, it is common to see increased fuel economy under cruising and part-throttle driving.

  • Great tune great company

    In my opinion this is the ultimate stage 1 tune for my 2008 mkv gti. I am running the 93 octane file and couldn’t be happier in any way. IE’s customer relations are absolutely top notch as well, offering advice, support and answers within a business day every time I’ve contacted them. I will be going to their stage 2 file very very soon. This tune maintains every bit of the daily driver characteristics the car had stock while surprisingly increasing my average mpg by a noticeable margin. Put my foot into it and it transforms the car. Boost needle snaps to 19 psi and the power across the band is undeniable. If you are on the fence trust me and just do it. You will not find a single or simpler mod to come close in performance per dollar terms.

  • I did a lot of research before deciding on going with Integrated Engineering when taking my 2008 GTI FSI to stage 1. This tune is by far and away the best bang for buck I have put into the car to date. Completely transformed the way the car performs. I have a DSG transmission and driving laid back in D the car drives smooth and tame, I’d almost say nearly stock in feel with exception being the throttle response is seriously improved. Switching to manual or S and letting my foot get heavy this thing is a rocket! The pull through the entire powerband is impressive but when boost sets in it really puts you back in the seat. The car is so much fun to drive now and I will be going to their stage 2 tune within a couple weeks. My boost gauge registers around 19-20 psi max boost which I feel is impressive for only being at stage 1 so I can’t wait to see what stage 2 can do. If you are on the fence go with IE with confidence. Their customer service is also top notch with fast and friendly not to mention more than helpful replies.
